We are incredibly proud of our school and the happy, vibrant and purposeful community that has been built here over the last fourteen years. When you walk through the blue doors you will be warmly welcomed into a friendly school where there is a palpable buzz; children chatting happily with one another and their teachers as they move between lessons, matches or clubs or heading off for a delicious lunch in the dining room. Exceptional pastoral care ensures that our children feel loved, and well supported by consistent messages based around the KS Code – both at school and at home.
This gives the children the scope to develop the confidence, resilience and determination to move on to the next stage of their educational journey, able to tackle challenges and embrace change with courage, compassion and integrity.
For a peak into life at KS watch a few of the videos below to get a flavour of the high-energy, giving and nurturing nature of the school.
As the only school to respond to the call of what to do with the St Luke’s site in 2006 we are proud to be able to use the astroturf for hockey, football, netball and matches against other schools. We also have an evening slot which is used by KS Parents, KS Staff and Parents vs KS Children.

Back to Map ^St Columba’s Church provides wonderful space for KS throughout the week. We use it from 0800 to 1700 every day and we have physical fitness and gymnastics in a wonderful large space, our KS library and the use of 4 classrooms which we designed in 2018. We hold Clubs each week before and after school, Fencing and Table Tennis matches as well as many other activities. We have whole school celebrations such as Assemblies, Remembrance Services, Carol Services, Christmas Fairs, KS Entrepreneur , KS Has Got Talent, Concerts and many more parent, staff and student functions. At the end of every week we support the church in feeding the homeless in the community through the charity ReStart Lives.
Back to Map ^Since inception, the relationship with the Royal Hospital Chelsea and it’s pensioners has been critical as it blends together the community, young and old and fosters the importance of duty and responsibility. Community outreach is a huge part of being at KS, hence the Royal Hospital is one of 3 annual charities supported, and the students are very involved in maintaining communications with the pensioners through assemblies, choir performances and events. Pensioners are annually invited to our Remembrance service, Carol Services and often visit assemblies on theme weeks – Bravery/Courage. Students write Christmas cards each year and attend RHC events – Cutting Of The Cheese. We had Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery and winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2019 as our visiting speaker to sing at our prizegiving. The Royal Hospital Chelsea Gardens is also home to our Forest School, a designed programme where children learn a love for nature.
Back to Map ^Knightsbridge School was founded in 2006. This wonderful building in Lennox Gardens was originally two large town houses with high ceilings. It became the Danish Embassy, the American School and then for 40 years was the Hellenic College before opening up to the local community as KS. It’s large windows and grand staircase add to the bright and welcoming atmosphere in the reception area which hosts morning music performances. The delightful Assembly Hall alongside spacious Reception classrooms give a real sense of creative and learning excitement alongside a bubbling science lab, an enriching art studio up in the gods, an all singing and dancing dining room, individual music practice rooms for 1:1 lessons with our brilliant peripatetic teachers and our pioneering Place2Be counselling rooms where students, parents and teachers can receive support, training and services.
Back to Map ^Elvaston Place is home to our Senior students who have enjoyed having a big say in the layout: S7, S8 and S9. Next year we will add an S10 and in 2022/3 we will deliver to GCSE. Alongside the spacious Art studio, Science lab, and dining room our older students get use of a student common room which allows them space to relax and re-energise. This building is in a fantastic location, just moments away from educational landmarks like the V&A, Natural History Museum, The Imperial Sports Centre and Hyde Park, which means lots of opportunities for local, out of the classroom learning.
Back to Map ^Parks play an important role at many day schools. Hyde Park is very close to our Senior building, Elvaston Place. We use it for break times, sport lessons, inter-house team building, yoga and a space to complete our sponsored walks for charity.
Back to Map ^Battersea Park is where the students have many of their Games lessons and inter-school matches, we make use of the hockey courts, football and cricket pitches. Our annual Sports Day is held here at the Millenium Arena and our Principal, Mr Magoo leads a Sunday Football club here. There is also a Parent football club here and tennis courts available for staff to book.
Back to Map ^Owned by The Royal Hospital, Burton Court is a great space within walking distance where we have some of our Games and Physical Education lessons. Athletics, football, rugby, rounders and more are all taught here and we hold many of our matches against other schools here. We also hold our KS Staff vs KS Parents matches in rounders, football and cricket and each year the KS Parents Association host their summer party here.
